Capture Date Is Wrong

LR Cloud Based. I am new and have imported a large quantity of photos. Many of the capture dates listed within LR are incorrect. Any ideas?  Thank you.

What kind of photos are these? Raw or jpeg directly from a camera? Images that were exported from another app? Scans? Photos downloaded from somewhere?

These are JPEGs taken using a Google Pixel phone and stored on Google pictures.

Yes, that kind of information always helps. I could imagine that Google pictures strips the capture date, in which case Lightroom will take the file creation date (which does not have to be the same).
