When attempting to apply the Denoise function, Lightroom consistently freezes and is unable to complete the operation. This occurs even when no other adjustments are applied and the Denoise feature is the only setting enabled.
As a result, the noise reduction is not applied to any photograph, and the process never completes.
The issue occurs regardless of the number of images selected.
The same behavior is observed when processing:
Small batches (e.g. 30 images)
Large batches (e.g. 300 images)
The problem is reproducible every time.
This issue severely limits the usability of the Denoise feature, especially for professional workflows involving batch processing. My laptop is a Macbook Pro M4.
I would appreciate your support in investigating and resolving this problem.
Kind regards,
margherita

Thanks for the detailed description, and sorry to hear how disruptive this has been. To help narrow this down and investigate further, could you please share a few more details?
System Info From Lightroom Help Menu (Help > System Info > Copy, Paste it here).
Are the images local or cloud-only when you apply Denoise?
File type(s) being denoised (RAW, DNG, HEIC, etc.)
Approximate file size and camera model
Does the freeze happen when denoising a single image, or only when multiple images are selected?
Do you see any error message, or does Lightroom become unresponsive and need to be force-quit?
Have you tried restarting Lightroom and the system, or resetting Lightroom preferences? If not, please Quit Lightroom, press and hold the Shift + Option keys. While holding down the keys, launch Lightroom. A dialog box will appear to ask if you want to reset preferences. Let us know how it goes.
Once we have these details, we can assist you better.
Regards,
Srishti
