Hallo, kennt jemand so etwas?
Hi Mohit,
I tried the GPU deselection without success. The speed in changing the pictures was always good.
In the meantime I deactivated and then uninstalled Lightroom, erased everything under <user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom (there were some 28 GB data) and everything from the corresponding ...\Roaming\.. directory. The reinstallation was smooth and everything is working now. I hope it will stay so!
Thanks for your help
Best regards
Rolf

Hi rolfe,
Could you please share the screenshot of the images and spot the difference you see. Also, please let us know the exact version of Lightroom you are using now?

Hi Mohit,
thanks for answering. In the meantime I can specify the problem. I imported around 20000 pictures from my disk to lightroom CC at January 8 this year. Many pictures were digitized with a scanner and I used to give them always the same file names, just numbering the pictures from 01.jpg to 36.jpg. When more than one film belonged to a certain event, I used a01.jpg, a02.jpg, ... c36.jpg and so on. As most pictures were imported to lightroom at the same day, they all have the same or a very similar "picture taken" date.
Now, I see all the pictures in the albums correct in the "Quadratraster" view, the "Photoraster" view and in the strip view at the bottom. When I open them in the detail view, most of them are correct, but many others presented are detail views from other pictures (in other albums and from other years taken originally) that carry the same file name as the picture I want to open. To me it seems a database problem, may be a cache problem. Something is scrambled. Regarding my version of LRCC: I updated yesterday to the newest version. I am not shure that the problem existed before the update, but it might be. I did not look to the older pictures for some time.
Best regards
Rolf

Maybe that information helps too.

Sorry for the delay in my response and thank you for all the information. Could you please share the screenshot of a detail view of one the images from both machines so that we can see the differences in detail?

Hi Mohit,
This is a screenshot on the Windows PC:
Dropbox - Screenshot 2018-09-04 11.36.13.png
As you may see, it is simply another picture, that also exists in the database. And it carries the same filename, but in another folder of another year.
As far as I see, the wrong detail views come usually from the same album.
In the Mac Mini I see everything correct.

Thanks for sharing the screenshot.
Well, I see there's different image selected in a filmstrip what it showing in a bigger screen mode. Looks like both the images have a same name. You may try resetting the Lightroom preferences back to defaults to make sure all the settings are correct and set to defaults.
Please refer the link: How to set Lightroom Classic CC preferences (This article belongs to Lightroom Classic CC but you can use the same steps to reset the Lightroom CC preferences)

Hi Mohit,
Thanks for your help.
I resetted my lightroom preferences now. It took a while, but it did not really help. Some pictures that were scrambled before, are now ordered:
Dropbox - Screenshot 2018-09-04 21.25.46.png
but other are not:
Dropbox - Screenshot 2018-09-04 21.32.06.png
Lightroom moved all (actually, not all, but most) locally stored pictures from my D-Drive to the System (C-)Drive... I dont want them there, so I will redo that by time.
What else can I do?
Best regards
Rolf

Ok, as far as I see, I will have to install LRCC from scratch on the Windows PC. The data in the cloud are ok, as far as I see on my Mac and on the smartphone. Is there anything I can do wrong? I plan to deactivate the LRCC on the Windows machine, deinstall everything according to the instructions and start with a new installation. Anything else?
Thanks for answering.
Best regards

Hi Rolf,
Before reinstalling the Lightroom CC from your machine, could you please turn off the GPU from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix this issue.
Go to Lightroom menu > Preferences > General > deselect the GPU > Restart Lightroom.
If you stay for another 20 seconds on the image, do you think Lightroom will correct the selection. Maybe Lightroom is slow when it comes to going through the images quickly?
If turning off GPU doesn't help then, you can try the uninstall and reinstall process and let us know the result.

Mohit
