Hi All,

I am using Lightroom (NOT classic) on my Windows 11 PC and I can't seem to find the count of photos in my folders.  Does that exist in Lightroom or only in Lightroom Classic?

Thank you!

Thanks, Selondon & JohanElzenga, but I believe both of you are referring to the Lightroom version BEFORE Adobe added the "Local" tab.  The Local tab is basically a combination browser (simply points to your Finder or File Explorer), as well as a photo development module with most (but not all) of the same editing tools as Lightroom Classic.  The main diff between LrC and Lr (Local tab) is that there is no import process.  You simply browse to any photos in any folders on your PC.

Right! You should have said you were talking about the local tab...

You are correct. Photo count is only at Album level.

Folders in Lightroom are what collection sets are in Lightroom Classic, not real folders. You do not have a photo count in Lightroom Classic collection sets either, for a simple reason: because an image can be in multiple collections, showing a photo count of a collection set would be meaningless, because some photos would be counted more than once if they are in more than one of the collections in that set.

In the Local tab, then, we are not talking "Albums" or "Collections" except for purposes of copying any photos to the Cloud tab.  We are talking Folders.

Since I posted my question, I kept searching around until I found the answer.  The number of photos in a folder is displayed (as far as I can tell) ONLY in Grid view, and is at the upper right.

I've attached 2 screenshots.  One in Grid view on the Local tab, with the Local tab and the photo count circled.  Another in Detail (edit) view on the Local tab, with the Local tab circled.  See the left panel, which displays a view of a portion of my folders on my PC.

Ah yes, if you 'go into' the Folder it's there indeed.

That's the same with Folders in the Cloud too (in Grid View). Neither show the count in the Photo List Panel unfortunately.
