Does the interface change when you choose "student" or "photography professional"?

I'm not able to find some features I need to use in Lightroom, so I'm wondering if it's because I chose "student" instead of  "photography professional" during the installation process. Does choosing one or the other options change the interface?

For example I wasn't able to find the option "masks"

No, the interface remains the same no matter what answer you gave. "Masks" are available when using the various selective tools (brush, radial filter, graduated filter, etc.), press the "O" key when using one of the selective tools to toggle through the mask options.
