Fix Lightroom Delete Key Triggering “Delete Album”

New Here ,
Oct 26, 2025 Oct 26, 2025

Until recently, when I pressed the Delete key, Lightroom would correctly show the option to delete the selected photo (e.g. “Remove from Album” or “Delete from All Photos”).

However, after I accidentally pressed something on the keyboard, the Delete key now only triggers “Delete Album” — even when a single photo is selected.

@VratislavJ.
If you press the Command key you will see the difference in Delete and Remove under Edit shortcuts.
We have different shortcuts for different cases since, either:
* Remove (from Album) - Option key + Delete
or
Delete - Delete key

Thanks,
Ignacio

If you could share a screenshot or screen recording showing what you see it may help.  With my own iPad  and external keyboard, I can only get images to display a deletion dialog.  I can't figure out how you are seeing Delete Album

My iPad is updated to iPad OS 26, and if yours is too, you can see a menu of what keyboard shortcuts are possible by pressing globe/function + M

Thanks, Ignacio.

It's worth noting the way the keyboard menu display works the way Ignacio describes in iOS 18 and older, but changed in iOS 26 per my notes above.
