Not sure why it's acting the way it is, but AI remove isn't removing the object I highlight but rather leaving a faint shadow of it, whether it's buildings or cars (I attached screenshots below). Hope it can be fixed.
1. Version: Adobe Lightroom 8.5.1
2. Adobe Lightroom, Macbook Pro w/ Apple M2 Max chip & 32 GB memory, Sequoia 15.7.1
3. Just using AI remove
4. Not removing object completely but leaving shadow

Thanks for reporting this. Please update your Lightroom app to the latest version (v9.0), as several improvements have been made.
After updating:
• Try running Remove again on the same image area.
• If the issue persists, please share a screenshot showing the before and after results so we can forward it to the product team for review.
Best,
Anshul Saini

Most likely you need to update AI settings, because you are using the Adaptive profile and the hidden masks that this profile creates need to be recreated because the image changed by the remove action. There should be a yellow indicator at the top right of the panels.
