Hard drive not showing in Lightroom on my Mac mini.

Hi everyone,

Can somone explain why I can't see memory cards pluged into my mac mini in the local hierarchy in Lightroom.

Photo data on removable devices such as memory cards cannot be edited directly.
Please copy the data to a storage device such as a hard disk or SSD before editing.

Thank you Yamato7,

 I'm not trying to edit the images on the sd card I just want Lightroom to see the card so I can drag the images to a folder on my hard drive and then edit my images from there. I know I can copy my images to a folder of my choice using finder, I just don't understand why I can't do it through Lightroom.
