HDR Merge no longer working following October release of 5.0

I am on lightroom CC version 5.0

MacOS 12.0.1

HDR merge is no longer working. I have tried to merge 2 and 3 raw images (Sony A7Riii) the system goes through the motions for producing the merge but the merged image does not appear in my library.

Same issue. It goes through the process but does not merge the 5 photos. I seems to get stuck when syncing.
