Healing Tool Freezes in Lightroom

My healing brush has stopped working. When I choose the healing brush, I get the circle, but clicking on the picture just freezes the circle on that spot. I can't drag over anything to heal. Basically, it does nothing at this point. Any idea what could have happened and how to fix it?

Hi Tom,

That shouldn't be happening, let's make it right.

As the Healing Tool is freezing up, have you tried turning off the GPU option from Lightroom's preferences?

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > General and uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

Also, please let us know the version of Lightroom and the operating system you're working with.

Regards,
Sahil

I found it under Performance instead of general. And it fixed the issue! I turned it "off"

My operating system is Windows 10 and the version is the monthly subscription so I assume it's the latest version?

This freezing issue persists in 2024, by the way.

I too am having this issue. M1P 2022 MBP LRCC 12.2.1 release. My performance was already off. I optimized my catalog. 32gm RAM. Several hundred gigs open. I can't use the brush tool at all. Freezes when it gets to the edge of the image.

@Devoncadams  This thread is about Lightroom Desktop not Lightroom Classic (and the thread is very old). You should post in Lightroom Classic Discussions instead.  You will get  a quicker - version/application appropriate answer there.
