help with presets

i want to download a few different presets. Some say it works with lightroom and adobe cc, i have lightroom 5.5 will a preset that says its for adobe cc and not lightroom work on my lightroom app? or how do the presets work im new to this and dont want to pay for any presets that will not work on lightroom

What kind of "preset that says its for adobe cc and not lightroom" are you referring to? If it says 'not Lightroom', then that probably means it won't work in Lightroom...
