I was working on editing photos via Lightroom CC desktop. When I went to go back to continue editing, none of my edits were there - all have been lost! Not sure what happened but this is a huge problem as the photos were for a client and they are due. I don't have the time to re-edit them. Has this happened to anyone? I went on my drive to look at the Backup folder and none are to be found that are recent. I am stumped! Someone please help 😞

You say 'Lightroom CC desktop', but there is no such application anymore, so what version are you using? There is Lightroom Classic (latest version is 9.4) and Lightroom (latest version is 3.4). Lightroom Classic uses a local catalog. If you lost hours of editing, then you may have opened an older catalog by mistake. Lightroom stores images and edits in the cloud. I have no idea how you could lose hours of editing with that version.

If I understand what you did, then it's no wonder that you didn't see any of your work. You cannot go to a backup folder and see the changes done to your images. It will be necessary for you to open Lightroom to see those changes. And to have copies of the images for your client it will be necessary for you to export copies of those images that include the adjustments that you have made using Lightroom. Lightroom doesn't apply the changes directly to the master images. They are always left in their pristine condition they were in when they were first imported.
