I'm starting the year cleaning up after unsyncing thousands of photos from LR Cloud the wrong way. I'm on the right track now, but here's what I'm trying to solve. I need to free up a ton of space on my Adobe account, and I want to get every single synced photo I added on mobile off of mobile, and reorganized:
- I have about 10,000 photos taken with my mobile phone, and imported into LR Cloud, and synced with LR Classic.
- They show up as synced photos in LR Classic.
- They are stored in the Adobe Lightroom Cloud Photos folder on my computer (a NAS more specifically).
- For all my photos added via LR Classic (from cameras / memory cards) they are organized in a folder structure also on my NAS. They're organized by month, and theme (ex: 2025 > 01 January 2025 > 01 January 2025 - Family). They're also now all unsycned from LR Cloud if they were previously.
- I want to move photos from the Adobe Lightroom Cloud Photos folder to my "monthly" folder structure. I want these to be truly local, and no longer synced.
- My goal is that the LR Cloud photos folder has ZERO photos in it, and LR Cloud on mobile (or Lightroom desktop app - not classic) has ZERO photos added via cloud.
- Also, I will manually move these from the LR Cloud collection to the corresponding LR Classic collection.
- I want the edits, tagging, etc. to be retained when these are migrated from the cloud collection to the Classic collection.
That's really about it. Once I'm done, I'm going to establish a much better workflow for taking photos with my iPhone, importing to Cloud, and each month migrating to the local folders as I've described above.
There has to be a way to do this. Thank you in advance for any help you may have. There must be a way!
