I like being able to add image metadata to the bottom of each print. An example is putting image numbers on proof sheets.
But my geatest need is to add the current date/time to the print test. It's key for locating and reviewing the exact Develop settings recorded by the History panel. It helps analyze the creative impact of multiple settings, and gets you there quickly. It also helps when making adjustments for reprints. Each time, the reprints seem to get better.
The problem is, having to write the exact date/time recorded by History on each print is a time-consuming and error-prone exercise. What’s worse is having to reprint an entire series when things don’t add up.
Has anyone figured a way to get Lightroom to do it?
If not, this would be my top recommendation for a new feature in the next update.

Someone will come up with a Plugin suggestion.
My simple answer would be just to type the date in a Custom field when you print.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've tried it but found more problems than doing it manually. You don't know the exact time Lightroom will use for the History until the print is made. That's a critical difference when making several tests in quick sucession to bracket settings. Plus, if you forget to change or remove the last date and time in the custom field, it will continue printing it on every print from then on. The objective is to create proof(s) that can be re-printed now and in the future, requiring 100% accuracy.
Handwriting eliminates both these problems, although it's still time consuming and error prone. Better if Lightroom (or a plugin) could do it. I'd also like the option to add other settings like the ICC profile, rendering intent, and printer media settings. When things go haywire, they would help isolate printing mistakes. It happens.
Thanks.
