How to recover removed photos in several albums when I turned on sync?

I was having photos imported in several albums. And I turned off syncing to save space on the cloud (and the syncing takes long time).

When I re-enable sync (because some of the my albums required sync in order to edit) - the albums that I did not push to cloud got wiped out completely.

There was not an option to allow the album to be stored locally any more? This is frustrating as I have lost about 500+ photos. The process in Lightroom is not clear and I do not know where my photos are stored.

I checked the Removed Photo (bin Icon) but nothing was there.

How can I recover my photos in the ablbum (have not cleared the cache of the app)?

Also, some albums got green down arrow symbols, some does not.... Can anybody suggest what those are? Tried to hover but no tooltip and nothing said about such symbols on the net.
