How to remove photos from my computer but keep them in the cloud

I no longer have storage space and have transferred a copy of my photos to an external hard drive.  I was told that I have to delete the photos and the cache.  How do I remove the photos but retain access in the cloud?

Go to the Lightroom CC preferences - Local Storage. Set the size of the cache low (you could even set it to 0%), and uncheck the options to store anything locally.
