Hi @vipivarghese! Welcome to the community!

Could you let us know what version of Lightroom you're using? Also, it would be great if you could check for any system updates on your machine. Just type "Check for updates" in the Windows Start Menu, and if there are any updates pending, please download and install them. After that, restart your computer and relaunch Lightroom.

Let me know if this helps!

Hi @Aleke, Thanks.

I am using Lightroom 8.2. There is no system update pending. Lightroom is working fine on my laptop. but this error is showing only on the desktop. This is what the home screen of Lightroom looks like now.

I uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom several times. But the error persists.

Thanks for helping,

Vipin

Hi @vipivarghese! I understand the frustration. How are you reinstalling Lightroom? If you haven't yet, I recommend trying this method for a clean install of Lightroom one more time to see if it helps:

  1. Close Lightroom.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Use the Adobe Creative Cloud App to uninstall Lightroom.
  4. Restart your computer again.
  5. Install Lightroom via the Creative Cloud App without launching any other programs.
  6. Restart your computer once more.
  7. Launch Lightroom and wait for 5 minutes.

If that doesn't resolve the error messages, I suggest resetting the preferences:

  1. Close Lightroom.
  2. Hold down [Alt/Opt] + [Shift] while restarting Lightroom.
  3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.
  4. Close Lightroom again.
  5. Restart Lightroom.

This procedure might change your local storage location, so please review this setting after resetting preferences.

Let me know how it goes! Thanks!
Alek

Hi @Aleke,

Thanks for helping me.

I have tried both methods and either didn't help 😞

Resetting preference by clicking Alt/Opt] + [Shift] while restarting Lightroom didn't show any change and the screen is the same as before.

Thankyou,

Hi @vipivarghese!

I'm really sorry we haven't been able to help yet. Do you remember when this issue started happening? Did it begin after a recent update? Also, what version of Windows are you using?

You might want to try uninstalling the Creative Cloud app and then reinstalling it along with Lightroom to see if that helps.

Thanks a lot!

Alek

Hi @Aleke ,

Thanks for helping me out.

I tried to uninstall all Adobe apps, including Creative Cloud, and did a fresh install. But the issue is still the same with Lightroom. Lightroom was working fine with my laptop. When I upgraded to a new Desktop and installed Adobe apps, Lightroom started to give me this error.

The error message appears to be linked to the processor model.  Is your CPU a Snapdragon X Elite or similar?
