Image Compare Independent Panning

When comparing two images in cloud Lightroom on Windows, both images pan together. It would be useful to have the option of panning them independently so that one remains fixed while the other pans.

I just checked Lightroom Desktop 7.5 (current version), and you can pan the images independently in Compare mode. 
Make sure you do not have the "Link Zoom" icon (broken chain link) selected in the bottom right toolbar.
