Imported image EXIF date matches LR metadata date but Preview date incorrect

I am new to Lightroom CC so forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong place. I am importing a large number of images that have been exported from Apple photos. The be clear the export process I am using is to export the edited images (not the unmodified original) into folders in Finder. These images are from scans of old photos, all have their capture date and location information added. This is a example of one such exported image opened in Preview showing the EXIF data.

After exporting to Finder, I then imported them to Lightroom and let Lightroom do its thing.

Now I have imported a few thousand images in this way, I found they would not all sort by date correctly, and the ones that don't (and there are many so manual date/time correction would be very painful) have the correct date in the the Librarry Metadata window, but a different date in the Library preview as shown below.

I am using LrC 11.2 on Catalina 10.15 on a 2013 27"Intel iMac.

I have tried to search the site for a fix, but haven't located one where the imported image EXIF data is present and correct yet Lightroom ends up with 2 different capture dates for the same image?

I am really hoping there is a work around for what appears to be a bug as I have many thousand more images to import!

Thanks

Steve
