Keeping Geo Location once saved as a JPEG outside of Lightroom CC

Does anyone know how you can keep the Geo Location data when you save the file as a JPEG to your computer or Camera Roll outside of Lightroom CC?  Each time I do it the Geo location data is lost even though it is there when the photo is within Lightroom CC

Hi Martin,

Could you please let us know the version of Lightroom you're working with? Are you using Lightroom Classic or Lightroom cloud based version?

Please check this article and let us know if it helps: Work with the Map module in Lightroom Classic

Where are you viewing the images after exporting them out of Lightroom?

Regards,
Sahil

Hi Sahil

As per the title i am using Lightroom cloud based and the Geo location of where the photo was taken has been recorded by the camera, is clearly shown when in Lightroom Cloud but when i use the 'Save To' function and save the photo as a JPEG then it removes the geo location data.  It also removes the details from the photo of when the photo was actually taken as well. Both of which were features in my old version of Lightroom from five years ago.

I don't want to have all of my photos in Lightroom all of the time, i want them to be exported out so i am not trapped into using Lightroom forever.  However it seems that if i do export them then everything is over written via the save to function.

Thanks for sharing the info, the name for Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic CC has now been changed to say Lightroom and Lightroom Classic, hence I had to verify the exact version you're working on.

As of now it is not possible to add location to metadata in the Cloud based version of Lightroom. You may suggest it as a feature here: Photoshop Family Customer Community so that our engineers can look into it for future releases.
