Laggy lightroom

Hi all, I have lightroom on my XPS 15 and its so laggy, almost to the point where its unusable. My computer runs other programmes with no problem and I dont know why its so slow. I have about 3000 photos on it atm, but I have freinds who have alot more and it seems to work fine. Any sugjestions?

Can you do Help>System Info and tell us the exact version number of Lightroom that you are using?
