Lightroom can access the SSD, but at the same time there is an error message saying SSD disconnected

As the title says. When I open Lightroom CC on my Mac I get a banner message across the top saying that my SSD is disconnected and it is unable to sync 12 images. However withinin the Lightroom app I can click on Local, and the SSD is accessable.

I just went through a couple hours of troubleshooting via the Chat option with Adobe. My tech help, Deepak, was remotely connected. He even uninstalled and reinstalled the Lightroom app. He tried deleting plist files. However the banner continues to show up.

Clicking on the cloud icon there is a message saying there is a sync issue.

Apparently Deepak decided he had better things to do as he told me to "Update my system" then he ended the session without any other information. At no point was there any question of what needed to be updated. All OS and Adobe updates are done.

I have attatched a screen shot showing that the app is giving me this error while also showing that it is able to access the drive.

Any help from the community would be appreciated because aparently Adobe feels my many years of ownership and subscription are not worth their time.

Thanks all,

Keir

I've been able to solve this on my own. I found in Preferences>Cache there is an option for "Storage locations for Originals". I removed and readded the exact same drive, and the sync issues were able to resolve themselves.

Gotta say im still not comfortable using the Cloud sync features of Lightroom CC. I completely understand how LIghtroom Classic works. When I use LIghtroom CC I am continuously worried about losing originals, and I can never figure out where the originals are actuallyl stored based on if I install to my computer or using my iPad. I feel Adobe is going to this cloud synch model simply in an attempt to encourage users to spend more on increasing their cloud storage space. Adobe has no interest in thinking if this is a good usability model for photograpers.

anyway. rant over.

Thanks all.
