Lightroom CC Version 4.0 20201007-0818-b2c04b4 Build Causes iMac (Retina 5k, 27-Inch, 2019) Crash

Multiple functions in Lightroom have caused my two day old iMac to crash, full freezing all functionality to where the iMac sits frozen for thirty seconds and reboots.

The machine has 3GHz-6-Core Intel Core i5 Processor and 8 GB (currently, upgrading to 64 within a day or so) of RAM (at the recommendation of a sympathetic, fellow photographer, Apple Support specialist- the SECOND I had talked to in one day).

I was pretty dissapointed that after several years of using Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic, on multiple devices (MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone X, 11, 12) without any experience like this, I've suddenly graduated to a more powerful machine that either a) can't handle "complex" LR functionality; selective edits, adjusting curve and basic LR functionality; clicking on a photo in the develop module (that's it. That's what caused the entire computer to freeze five minutes ago).

Though I'm seemingly unable to find someone with this exact issues- I'm seeing tons of crash-related issues, related to Lightroom CC, relates to OS Catalina. Can someone provide some actual assistance. Are there known issues (currently) with the device specs, and/or OS version or LR CC version information that I've provided?

Thanks.

"Moving to the Lightroom Classic forum from Using the Community"

@Deleted User

This question doesn't belong in the Lightroom Classic forum, the question is clearly about Lightroom, not Lightroom Classic, and belongs in the Lightroom forum.

The best place report bugs is on the following forum, which is monitored by the engineering team:
https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/categories/photoshop_family_lightroom_cc

It may be best to post this issue there also.
