Hello everyone,

Lightroom (cloud version) is crashing on starting up, right after splash screen, every time.

There is no opportunity to check or change preferences, as some have suggested. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling a few times(from Creative Cloud app), with restarts,  but it doesn't help.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions. 🙏🏼

details:

Lightroom version 7.0

Mac OS: Sonoma 14.1.1

Graphics: Radeon Pro 560X 4 GB, Intel UHD Graphics 630 1536 MB

Memory: 16GB

We’ve reviewed the email address you use with this forum and find no crash reports in our system.

Did you see a crash dialog?

Do you use a different email address when filling out the crash report?

Was the crash dialog Adobe’s?  Apple’s?

Hi Rikk, Thanks for the fast reply!

I don't get any crash report or error message. Screen recording attached.

I'm using the same email account for this message, and the Adobe account.

I did see a theory in another post somewhere that the crashing problem might be due to the fact that I use two accounts. I get an Adobe license through the school where I teach, and I also have a personal license. Screenshot of this thread attached also.

By the way, LR Classic opens and runs just fine.  I would like to move over to LR (cloud version), and show my students how to do this, so I'm hoping to find a solution!

Thanks so much for your help!

A couple of observations:

  1.  The crash is happening at an OS level - have you reviewed the Apple Logs?
    2. You are showing two GPUs in your system information. If you disable the onboard GPU, do you still crash?

I'm afraid I don't know how to review Apple logs or disable a GPU.

I'll have to do some research to figure that out...

Hi,

I am facing a similar problem. Light Room is crashing immediately after the splash screen. Not able to change any settings or try anything. I did try resetting the Preference Files by using the Shift + Option Key but it did not work.

Need help
