Lightroom for iPad - can't directly import from SD & no export options? Can't choose export location

As the title says. I can't directly import from my SD card without getting stuck at 99%. I reinstalled and have file access setting turned on in privacy. I have to drag the files into the apple ios files app first, then import from there. Other problem described below, but these seem Screenshot 2023-11-04 200712.pngto be a problem for a lot of users and I cannot for the life of me find a solution.

I remember distinctly when using this in the past there was a "Export to 'x" or 'y' " option, like to photos or to files, but that option no longer seems to be available. Even if I choose the export option, it doesn't even save the files anywhere. It exports it and then gives me an option to share it via other apps on my device. I'd like to be able to export and save it to an external drive/sd I connect but there is not option or ability to do that. Not sure why this setting or option is gone as multiple youtube videos show users having the option to do that in their older lightroom versions. It takes a number of posts before a new member can edit their own posts. That is probably to avoid spam.
