Lightroom / Lightroom Classic scaling issue in multi-monitor setup

New Here ,
Nov 19, 2025 Nov 19, 2025

Both Lightroom and Lightroom Classic do not handle multi-monitor (different DPI) setup properly.

Issues:

  • When launched on Display 1 (see below) all is displayed and scaled ok. When moved to Display 2 (see below) all UI (window titlebar, menu and also window content) is too large - scaled incorrecly.
  • When launched on Display 2 (see below) part of the UI (window titlebar, menu but not window content) is too large - scaled incorrectly. When moving window to Display 1 (see below) part of the UI (window content but not titlebar or menu) is too small - scaled incorrectly.

It seems scaling is not handled properly on launch on Display 2 (non-default). Also, moving windows between displays is not handled correctly. Result is that on one of my displays Lighroom cannot be used with proper scaling at all.

Display 1 (laptop screen) Windows Display Settings

  • Display resolution: 3840 x 2400 (Recommended)
  • Scale: 250% (Recommended)

Display 2 (external monitor) Windows Display Settings

  • Display resolution: 3840 x 2160 (Recommended)
  • Scale: 150% (Recommended)

This is pretty standard setup and all apps can handle this correctly. Except Adobe apps I use (Lightroom and Lightroom Classic) which have this issue. High DPI Compatibility setting in Windows are not helping.

Hi @pozix, welcome to the community!
Some users have fixed this issue by adjusting the high DPI settings. Could you try this:
Right-click the Lightroom .exe file, go to the Compatibility tab, then click Change high DPI settings. In the window that opens, check Override high DPI scaling behavior and choose System (Enhanced) from the dropdown.
Let me know if that does the trick!

Hi I tried that but while the scaling appears correct at the first sight, there are issues which prevent it to be useful workaround:

*
when viewing / editing individual photos (Library or Develop), the picture is not stretched to the full window size, but incorrectly smaller
*
UI is blurred

Thanks,

Hey, @pozix. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. Are you using a USB dock or any connection modifiers to connect your monitors to the machine? Are you working on JPEG or RAW files?

Try this:

Go to Lightroom Classic on the main menu> Preferences > Performance > Use Graphics Processor > Set it to Off if it is on Custom or Auto. If this shows you any differences, please check this article to troubleshoot further: https://adobe.ly/3uYiJo4

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks!

Hi @Sameer K, thanks.

I am not using any modifiers, it is monitor connected to laptop normally. It does not matter which files I am working on, the issue is in app GUI rendering, not in rendering of the photos. Turning off GPU did not help.

This is related to handling multi-monitor setup with different DPI/scaling (common setup for laptop+monitor users) and Adobe apps are not handling this correctly, while any other app is not having any issue. I think this is a bug/ommission on Adobe side and it would be great if its acknowledged and remediation is prioritized.

Thank you,
