Lightroom Mobile for IOS - Geotag Location is incorrect

Shot some images using my IPhone 15Pro today, using Lightroom for Mobile, and noticed the geotag location information is incorrect. I was stood on the English side of the Severn at Severn Beach but the geotag was in the centre of Chepstow. Images shot using the native camera app had the correct location.

All to much for my little bear brain. Any ideas?

I'm using the IOS 18 Beta. Possible cause of problem?

Hi @Luker99hy

I can't immediately reproduce any discrepancy between the geo location iOS Photos and LR Desktop show.  I wonder if it was an iOS 18 Beta bug.

If you can reproduce this with any new image captures on released iOS versions, and if you wouldn't mind sending me an example photos, please click on my user name here to send me a private message.

Hello @Luker99hy

Are you comparing the map shown in iOS photos to the map shown in Lightroom desktop or the web app (lightroom.adobe.com)?  I can't reproduce, but will keep trying.  FWiw, I have tried iOS 17, and the now released iOS 18.

If you update to the latest iOS 18 (now released), can you still reproduce this?  Does this location you mentioned have solid cellular coverage?

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.

In response to your questions:

- Are you comparing the map shown in iOS photos to the map shown in Lightroom desktop or the web app (lightroom.adobe.com)?Comparing the map, in IOS photos, that appears when clicking the 'I' icon at the bottom of the screen with the map, in Lightroom Desktop, that appears when clicking the 'i' icon in bottom right corner of screen. The images do not show any location information when viewing 'info and rating' in Lightroom Mobile.
- If you update to the latest iOS 18 (now released), can you still reproduce this? I have updated to iOS 18. Recent images, at various locations, show geotag information within acceptable parameters when comparing iOS to Lightroom Desktop.
- Does this location you mentioned have solid cellular coverage? Yes, solid cellular coverage. However, there was a rather large road bridge close by.

The exact coordinatesof the location are: 51.569689, -2.664981

Best,

Ray
