Missing Files are Actually Missing- Remove Notification Banner from Preview?

Hello!    I have missing files that I know are definitely missing (My hard drive crashed- literally- it was attacked by the robot vacuum).  I thought everything was backed up, but it wasn't).  The LR previews (but not smart previews) are still there, but of course, when I click on them, the notification banner "The file named  70729485329.CR2 is offline or missing" is displayed across the top.

I have already mourned the loss of the photos, and have decided that I am going to set my camera up to take photos of the preview on the screen.  I know this is not ideal- but I don't know of another way to salvage the memories.  My question is, is there a way to remove the "missing" notification banner from the top of the preview so that the preview displays just the photo?

Thank you so much!!

Hi Alison,

Sorry to hear about the missing files, could you please let us know the exact version of Lightroom you're working on by going to Help > System Info?

Also, could you try tapping the letter i when have the preview opened and see if the banner disappears?

Regards,
Sahil
