I already knew the Enhance feaure from Photoshop and it is now available in LR 2021 as well. So I gave it a try and although it works in itself, there are some basic issues i.m.o.

  1. It copies the image which is enhanced
  2. it forgets all edits made and starts with the basic image
  3. it forgets all metadata, in particular the capture date and imports it as a new image with today's date

Why not enhance "in place", or at least keep all the previous edits and metadata ?

Forgetting edits already made is core to how the feature works. It is based on the raw data, and edits applied may no longer be apprpriate.

Copying the meta-data does make sense, so i suggest you see if they can change this thread to a faeature request.

Please go to Help>System Info… and get us the exact installed version number of your software and your operating system version.

Also, what kind of file are you enhancing?

Last time I checked, it was copying metadata and edits, so if it's not, that would be a bug.
