new iMac M1 cannot upload photos to Lightroom v4.4 (trial)

The 'add photos' button is greyed out and i cannot upload photos

I tried uninstalling and re-installing and used the creative cloud cleaner tool and it is still not working.

Is it because i am on the trial version?
