New Mask / Brush on 5.1 issue, PC Windows 10

Using the brush with the new mask tool will not show the effect of the brush until the mouse button is released! That is terrible - you can't see what you are doing with the brush. Also the mask tool adds another step when usuing the brush.  

Is there any way to have a live brush with a mask?

I am able to paint live on both Mac 11 and Windows 10. I would recommend trying a couple of things:

1. Verify your mouse/tablet drivers are up to date

2. Reset your preferences

This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.

If you are using Lightroom Desktop it can change the location of your local storage. Please review this setting after resetting preferences. 

Reset Procedure:

1. Close Lightroom.

2. Hold down [Alt/Opt]+[Shift] while restarting Lightroom.

3. Overwrite the Preferences when prompted by the dialog.

4. Close Lightroom.

5. Restart Lightroom.

Drivers are all up to date.

Did the LR reset.

Same results (Brush with Auto Mask, Exposure set to +4 for white background, results of the brush are shown after I release the mouse button)

Draphic card is NVIDA dual screen on Windows 10.

I did an install of LR on my Surface tablet also Windows 10 - and it works there just fine.

This just started after the 5.1 upgrade.
