New Updated Lightroom keeps freezing

I downloaded the updated version of Lightroom today. Immediately when I started using it, my laptop began to consistently freeze up. The longer I stayed in LIghtroom, the more it kept freezing. Sometimes taking up to a minute to unfreeze so i cn get back to work. This was never an issue until the updated version. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? ANd tips on what i can do?  Can I go back to the older version if this can't be resolved?

Thank you for your suggestions. I can't seem to find the Settings section in Lightroom. WHere should I look for that tab?
ALso, it started freezing as soon as i started editing my first batch of photos.

I understand this might be confusing, but the update isn't within Lightroom itself—it’s related to your device settings. Could you please follow these steps to check for any pending updates?

  1. Click on the Windows icon at the bottom-left corner of your screen.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Navigate to Update & Security and see if there are any updates available for your device. ^Ritika

Thank you for your response. I checked Windows and it says there were no current updates waiting. My last update came Oct. 9 and it was the 2024-10 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems.
My laptop had been working well most of yesterday, then it started freezing or lagging again this morning even though I haven't used or opened Lightroom.

To help me understand the issue better, could you please follow these steps to share your system information?

  1. On your laptop screen, click on the search bar near the Windows icon.
  2. Type System Information and select it from the search results.
  3. Once the System Information window opens, click on the File menu at the top.
  4. Select Export, then save the file to your desired location.

Once saved, you can share the file with me here, and I’ll review it for you. Let me know if you need any further guidance!
