Lightroom CC Mac – Not Synching.
I'm running Lightroom CC on an iPad, iMac and iPhone. No problems until March when everything suddenly stopped synching.
I haven't changed any settings and I've tried logging in and out of Lightroom on my iPad, pausing the synch and restarting, but nothing has fixed the problem.
I've also noticed the same problem on all three devices with images I've edited on my phone not updating either.
I now have different amounts of images on three different devices. They are all logged into the same Creative Cloud account.
Help!

Hey, @AmplifyBrand. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.
If you're sure some files are stuck in the Sync queue, we can figure that out using the Diagnostic report. Please go to Lightroom > Preferences > Account > press, hold the ALT/OPT key, and select Diagnostic Log.
Then, please share this diagnostic log with me via direct message.
As a test, drag and drop a few images into Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/4a5tqFM) and check if they sync to Lightroom Desktop and Lightroom Mobile.
I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Sameer
Here is the diagnostic report. file:///private/var/folders/hn/s4wx110s6c36lqp9sfqbkpwc0000gp/T/DiagnosticLog.html
I have uploaded images into Lightroom Web and they are syncing to all other devices (desktop, iPad and iPhone). But not the other way around!
Thank you for looking into this for me.
Steve

Hey Steve! Thanks for the response and details. I am unable to access the Diagnostic log. You'll need to upload it to a file-sharing service, such as OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, etc., and share the public link here via direct message on my profile.
Additionally, it's great to know the sync is working one way.
You can also check Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/4eF2E7u) and look for the Deleted Section and the Sync issues tab (if they exist). Emptying both of these has helped in the past. Before emptying these tabs, please ensure you have backups for the images.
Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hi @Sameer K !
I'm replying to your message here instead of starting a new post in the community.
I'm experiencing the same synchronization issue that another user recently described.
I typically work on my iPad for all photo editing — I don’t use my phone or MacBook for edits, as the screen sizes are either too small or too large for my workflow. The iPad and Apple Pencil are just the perfect combination for editing.
At some point, however, synchronization stopped working. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it started failing, since I was on a trip from March 20th to March 31st. During that time, I was regularly uploading around 800+ photos each evening to Lightroom, but I wasn’t editing them — just importing them. It’s important to note that the total number of photos (and even deleted files) remains identical across all platforms even now — iPad, laptop, mobile, and Lightroom Web.
I took a short break after my trip and began editing again on April 3rd — working on photos I had imported back in 2023 and 2024. The ones from the March trip will have to wait, as I prefer to go through all 6,000 of them first, selecting the best ones before starting the editing process.
I didn’t realize synchronization was broken until April 9th. Between April 3rd and April 9th, I edited roughly 800–1,000 photos — about 30 hours of work — and all of these edits are only visible on my iPad. None of them show up on my phone or Mac.
Interestingly, when I add or delete photos or albums on the iPad, those actions sync instantly across all devices. But any edits — even a minor 0.1 exposure adjustment — only appear on the iPad. On the other hand, if I make edits on my phone or laptop, those are instantly mirrored on the iPad. This leads me to believe the iPad is the source of the sync issue — but specifically and only when it comes to edits.
I’ve already reached out to seven support agents via live chat, but unfortunately, no one has been able to resolve the issue. I'm assuming you can access those chat transcripts and see the steps we’ve tried so far. I’ve followed all the suggestions except for reinstalling the app on the iPad. I did reinstalled the Lightroom app on my laptop and my mobile phone, but it didn't trigger the sync.
As part of troubleshooting, I tried editing random photos from different months and years across all devices. The results are consistent: edits made on mobile or desktop sync to the iPad, but edits made on the iPad do not sync to any other device. The sync icon on the iPad spins from time to time, so it seems like it’s uploading to the cloud — but the changes just never show up elsewhere.
I even left the iPad on overnight, as one agent suggested allowing a few hours for sync to start. Still nothing.
I’m hesitant to reinstall the app on the iPad, as I know I’ll lose all the edits and will have to redo about 30 hours of work. I’m also nervous about exporting the edited files, reinstalling the app, and uploading them again — especially since I’ve noticed that uploading images via Google Drive or computer can change the original “date taken” metadata. Keeping the original dates intact is extremely important to me, so I don’t want to risk losing that information.
At this point, I honestly don’t know what else to do. I’m reluctantly starting to accept the possibility that I may have to redo everything and fall behind on my personal schedule. But I’m still holding onto hope that maybe there’s something you can do — perhaps a manual sync trigger you can initiate from your side for my iPad, or maybe there’s an upcoming app update that will fix this and allow things to magically sync again.
Any help or insight would be deeply appreciated.

It seems that nobody is particularly interested in solving this problem. :0)

@AmplifyBrand yep.
I did what I feared most — I had to reinstall the app and lost all of my edits and a week’s worth of work. Now I’m two weeks behind schedule.
Waiting 11 days for support and still no response is honestly unacceptable.

Hi Sameer,
I've sent you a private message with a link to the Diagnostic Log.
I looked for the Deleted Section and Sync Issues tabs – neither was present.
Cheers
Steve

Hello,
I am experiencing the same problems users in this post have mentioned. Has any resolution been found? This is profounding decreasing my productivity and will not be sustainable if not fixed.

Hi @megan_4567, Thanks for reaching out—I'd like to help get this sorted. To start, could you share your system info with us? You can find this by going to Help > System Info, copying and pasting it into a text file, and attaching it here. That’ll help us better understand what might be happening.
In the meantime, here are a few steps that may help resolve unexpected behavior:
1. Reset Preferences: Hold Cmd + Opt + Shift (Mac) or Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) immediately after launching Lightroom. You’ll be prompted to confirm resetting your preferences—this can clear up many odd behaviors.
2. Check for Updates: Ensure both Lightroom and your operating system are fully current. Updates often include important bug fixes and performance improvements.
3. Disable Plugins (if any): If you have any plugins installed, try disabling them temporarily to rule out plugin-related issues.
Let me know once you’ve tried these or if you have any questions and we’ll go from there! ^CH
