Offline Benutzung

New Here ,
Dec 02, 2025 Dec 02, 2025

Hey, @jakob_7220. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you get set up.

Ideally, once the apps are installed and activated, they can be used offline for up to 30 days. After this period, the apps will require an internet connection for license validation: https://adobe.ly/4rAF7MR

That said, do you have any browser plug-ins, VPN, or antivirus programs on this machine that can control how your machine connects to the internet? If yes, temporarily disable them and check how it goes when you disconnect from the internet.

Also, before going offline, launch Lightroom from the Creative Cloud desktop app to have the latest activation information, and then use the Airplane mode in Windows until you have proper WiFi to connect to.

Let me know if this helps.

Thanks!

Hi Sameer,

I cannot confirm this.

Lightroom requires me to connect to the internet before it shows me my images every other day.

Even though I used it with internet connection the day before.

I think your problem is as follows. Lightroom needs access to your photos. If it can't get access to its online photos, then it needs local copies, so you must save those. These can be either full copies or smart previews, so store one or the other locally. See the chapter about Cache preferences: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/using/preferences.html

Still can't confirm.

I only have offline, local photos and they do not load until I connect the device to the internet.
This even happens within a single day.
I connect it in the morning and when I open Lightroom again in the evening, I have to connect again.

Hi @jakob_7220

Thanks for the clarification. Could you please try the following and let us know if it helps:

  1. Update Lightroom to the latest version available on Windows.
  2. After updating, restart your PC and test opening Lightroom while completely offline.

If the issue persists, please share a short screen recording showing:

  • Lightroom being launched while offline

  • The photos not loading

  • What happens once you reconnect to the internet

This will help us better understand the issue and investigate further.
