Organizing Photos in Lightroom

How do you use Lightroom with iPhoto library on a Mac? Can you return photos after you have edited them back into the iPhone library? What would be the best procedure to follow when using apples iPhoto library? Am I able to get the pictures back into the iPhoto library and into the same album?
