Photoshop edits not syncing to LR from LR CC any more

Hello,

I have just gone through a work flow that used to work fine, but seems to be failing since the latest updates.

Basically I import a scan into LR CC, use "edit in photoshop" to open the original image in PS, make my edit - usually cropping and deleting the cropped pixels, and adding some layers - and then save, all as tiff. The edit looks fine in LR CC, so I add it to a sync folder to send a smart preview version to LR.

However when I check LR using the web version, the synced version has none of the PS edits including the crop. Pixels that I have actually deleted in PS are still showing. This never used to be the case. My photoshop edits used to look fine in any of the lightroom versions.

Writing this I have half answered my problem. PSDs sync with the edits fine. However I would prefer to work with TIFFs as I have always done. Can anyone shed any light why this is happening?

I am using Windows 10, in case that is relevant.

Many thanks,

James

Not seeing any such problem when I tested that workflow just now on Win10. Is it possible you synced the original rather than the returned file from PS? Have you checked the filename in Lightroom to make sure.

BTW, there is no longer any program called LR CC, so I've assumed you're referring to Lightroom Classic (often shortened to LrC).

It looks like similar to the the issue I've spotted.

Lightroom is no more saving the edits with layers. Only a flat file.

Thank you both for you replies. LR CC in my post does indeed refer to Lightroom Classic. Apologies for the confusion.

I am sure that I am trying to sync the correct version. I guess I will have to work with psd files for now.
