I've been traveling with an iPad, sans laptop lately, but can't seem to figure out a usable work flow with CC Mobile for ipad.
I download SD card to iPad with card reader and Import Files to LR CC to make edits. Great.
The problems begin when Lightroom syncs my RAW files to the cloud, causing it to reach capacity very quickly. My preference would be for LR CC mobile to just upload the smart previews and sync across my devices. IS there a way to do this?
Furthermore, The albums I've created in CC for iPad are not synced on LR Classic, so I'm basically stuck in the iPad environment.
How can I get the RAW files off my cloud without losing my edits, as well as sync the album created in CC for iPad to Classic? Also, how do I move the raw files from the ipad to my desktop? Obviously, I can download the SD cards, but was hoping I wouldn't have to, since the RAW files are already on my ipad AND my cloud.
Thanks!

No Lightroom CC syncs ALL images to the cloud. No way around that.

That's not right. The albums should show up in Lightroom Classic under collections.

The raw files should all sync to Classic through the cloud as well as the albums (but will be called collections in Classic). You remove the images from the cloud (and consequently your iPad!!!!) by unsyncing them in Classic. You do that by removing images from the all synced photographs special collection, or by marking collections/albums that have synced down to no longer sync. They will get deleted from the cloud but will remain in Classic.

This should all be automatic if your Classic is syncing to the same CC account. Do note that your cloud storage might be full and then the iPad won't upload any more images. In that case, Look in Classic at what images have synced down and unsync them. This should create some more space in the cloud to upload from the iPad. If your images exceed the cloud storage many times over you might have to do this several times. During this process you will see images disappear from the iPad that have already downloaded to Classic.
If you want all raw files both in CC on your iPad and in Classic, only way is to upgrade your cloud storage. That's not cheap unfortunately. However it is possible to work around limited cloud storage using the method described above.

Thank you for your response.
When I download photos directly into Classic and sync them, only previews are uploaded into the cloud for editing on mobile. The same cannot be done the other way around ? That is frustratingly limiting. I bought the ipad to eliminate the laptop from my travel workflow, but apparently that is not possible without giving Adobe more money.

Also, I have unsynced the folder that was filling up my cloud with RAW files, yet my cloud storage is still full. LR Classic seems to be syncing new collections to Mobile, but Mobile seems to be stuck on a pending sync.
