I’ve encountered significant performance issues using Lightroom on my iPad Pro (M4, 11") when working with 60MP DNG files from my Leica M11.
To maintain a reasonable editing workflow, I’ve resorted to pausing sync before downloading images from my SD card. This allows me to complete edits without extreme delays. However, once images are synced, editing slows down drastically—functions often become unresponsive, and in many cases, the app stalls entirely.
As a temporary workaround, I’ve started restarting Lightroom every time I need to edit a synced image. This means restarting the app for every single image, which is incredibly frustrating.
Thanks to a suggestion in this support thread, I’ve learned I can batch save images to my device as JPEGs, but only after performing a full restart on the iPad.
These issues only began after a recent update about a month ago. Previously, I had no trouble editing these files, even at their large size.
As a daily user of Lightroom, this has significantly impacted my workflow, forcing me to consider alternative solutions. I implore Adobe to address this issue promptly—this is not sustainable for professionals who rely on your software.
Thank you for your attention.

Hey, @frankfmduc. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll help you figure this out.
How much free space do you have on the iPad? Does Lightroom slow down when you work via Gallery view?
Log on to Lightroom Web (https://adobe.ly/3xdotLH) and check for all the images synced and uploaded to the cloud. Once everything is backed up to the cloud, try reinstalling Lightroom from the AppStore and let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Please don't give indifferent answers.
There is a huge problem with your updated version.
Make your software better instead of giving this useless answer.
Many people have this problem after updating to a new version. I also reinstalled my iPad. Similarly, I have not synchronized any images on Lightroom Web.
There is still 214g of usable space in the 256g iPad pro. Similarly, the export will be stuck and cannot be used. I have to restart the iPad.

Also an heavy iPadOS user. I use a M2 iPad with 16Gb Ram and 1T storage. Never had problems before with Lightroom but now it is almost unusable, after the last update, it gets unresponsive and freases often. I use Fuji with its 40 Mp files, they are big, but wasn't a problem before, even with less powerfull iPads. Allways prefered Lightroom over any other software, I just like its workflow more, but Will have to cancel my subscription if this is not solved very soon. I also suggest that Adobe should stop treating the iPad platform as a weak toy or just a sketch board before you jump for the big desktop at home. It is not the case anymore. The full version with be much apreciated on iPadOs and for sure , me and other mobile users on the go would gladly pay the full price for something that ACTUALLY WORKS

Hi Sameer, I only just saw your reply. I have over 384GB free on ipad, and I have already reinstalled the app. The problem persists. I have to stop my photos from uploading every day so I can edit them. Then I have to do a full start of the ipad for the export to work. If I have to edit photo that has been uploaded there is a very long wait which smart preview downloading - most times this stalls and I have to restart the App. I know I am using large 60mp files but this was not an issue and seemless before the update in October. Please resolve - I love used to love the Ipad version of Lightroom but I am now foreced to evaluate competitor products
