Hi all,

Have dug around looking for an answer to this … without success.
Is it a bug or just part of the Lighroom <–> Edit in Photoshop process?

(also makes it a 16-bit image from 8-bit)

Thanks for any suggestions

Paddy

It is as designed. ProPhotoRGB and 16 bits preserves all the colors that an image can possibly have, so that is what Lightroom uses 'under the hood' and also the reason it uses that when sending a file to Photoshop. In Lightroom Classic you can change this in the preferences - external editors, in Lightroom cloud you cannot change it.

Thank you Johan, I was beginning to suspect it was something like this, but thanks again for clearing up for me.
Cheers
