recent lightroom update eats system resources

I was ediding photos from a baby shower and saw that lightroom cc was utilizing 88% of my cpu and 97% of ram which i found to be unusual. I recently updated lightroom cc to the latest version but i am unsure if that is the root issue. (attached photo only displays ram usage)

system specs:

Ryzen 7  5800x

Radeon 6700xt

nvme ssd

samsung 860evo

32gb ram

850w psu
