Syncing photos in the cloud.

New Here ,

After the photo session, I connect the SD card and transfer the photos to the external SSD drive. Then I transfer the photos from the SSD to Lightroom. I see that some albums are still syncing. After disconnecting the SSD from the computer, all the photos are in the cloud. If the computer no longer has access to the SSD and they haven't been uploaded to the cloud yet, where are the files?

I'm not sure I understand the question. If the files have not been uploaded yet, then they are (only) on the SSD. Disconnecting the SSD does not change that.

How are you doing that "transfer"? If you are importing them using the Add Photos option in the Lightroom Desktop app, you need to be aware that Lightroom will first copy those images from the SSD into it's own dedicated "originals" folder on a local disk drive. And it's from that "originals" folder that Lightroom uploads the images to the cloud, i.e. the original source images on the SSD are not used by Lightroom after the initial import.

Unless you are doing it for backup reasons, you might find it easier to import directly from the SD card into Lightroom, thus avoiding that initial duplication.
