Trying to delete photos from Lightroom

I am trying to cull a wedding gallery right now and as I am trying to delete the photo will become darker in the catalog (still visible) but still appear in the catalog but also in the deleted folder. I have tried to reset both my desktop and lightroom and when I restart it, it will usually delete the first 2-3 photos and then stop deleting. 

Anyone advice is appreciated. Photo for reference

In the Cloud Based Lightroom, deleting the photo will move it to the deleted folder and it will no longer be visible.
