in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

If you are a "Classic user" why are you asking about Lightroom?

If you think Lightroom is a "newer" version (than Lightroom-Classic)- you would be wrong. It is a separate and different app for different use.

v13.0.2 of Lightroom-Classic is the "newer".

COMPARE LIGHTROOM & LIGHTROOM-CLASSIC FEATURES

And which version of Lightroom are you asking about? The 'old' perpetual version, or the 'new' Cloud based version?

Screen-clip and post the error message you see.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.4, Photoshop 25.11, ACR 16.4, Lightroom 7.4.1, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.1.2, Windows-11.

Sorry if my post was confusing. I have identified the problem myself now, Lightroom does not seem able to delete files from a NAS drive, but Lightroom Classic does.

Sounds like you are using the new 'local' feature. I'm not sure if you can delete images from your disk through this feature, but the dialog you get suggests that you can't.

Yes, I have come to the conclusion that I can’t delete photos directly from
Lightroom which are stored on a NAS. Works fine with external drive etc but
not with NAS. It seems possible to select all the rejections and move them
to a temporary folder elsewhere and then delete them. Not a simple workflow
though

Same issue here. I can delete files whithout issue with Lightroom Classic on MacOs, files are stored on my NAS, but it's impossible with Lightroom.

I go back to Classic.
