Unable to upload images to Lightroom app

Lightroom version 8.1.2

OS Version 13

 

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open app which often loads for ages so I have to uninstall and reinstall to get open

2. Click the blue image plus icon in the bottom right hand corner

3. Select and image and nothing happens

 

Expected result:  Image appears in my lightroom gallery

Actual result:  No images in my lightroom gallery and subsequently nothing to edit

What are your device specifications? Have you tried using another android device for importing images into Lightroom?

What type of file format are you trying to import? Where are the images located?

Did you try singing out and signing in? 

Please try clearing the cache of the application.

Hello

I am using a Samsung a52 and the app works on all my family's devices. I have also tried logging into my account on my sisters phone and it worked fine.
I am trying to import JPEGs and I have tried to import ones stored on both my SD card and on my phone storage. I have also tried taking images with the app but that didn't work either.
I have signed out and signed in and uninstalled and reinstalled many many times.
Yes I have tried clearing cache with no success.

I have attached an image of what the app looks like as soon as I have signed in.
