Upload to LR not happening

I have used LR 5.7 to import CR2 images from my Canon 5D mk 3 for quite some time via a card reasder without a problem.  I have now bought a Canon 1DX Mk 2 and LR wont accept the upload.  I get thumbnails that all say No Preview Available.  This is both with a Cfast Card and a standard Compact Flash Card.    I have tried uploading direct from the camera but that dosnt work either.   I am not too familiar with the technical side so any simple help would be appreciated.

The Canon 1DX MKII requires Lightroom 6.5 or higher. Your other option is to use the Adobe DNG converter, which will allow importing into LR 5.7.
