Viewing most recent photos

 When I open Lightroom on my iPad, the oldest photos are displayed first requardless of whether I sort by newest or oldest. How can I avoid having to scroll and scroll and scroll up or down to view the newest images?

What version of Lightroom & the iPadOS are you working on? Are you in the Lightroom view or the Gallery view in the Lightroom app?
