When are Plugins going to be an option in Lightroom (Not Lightroom Classic)

I have been patiently waiting for 3 years now. Why is this not a feature? Is it technically not possible?

I pay a subscription for Lightroom only as I don't want photoshop but I would really like plugin options in Lightroom.

Also your confusing naming of your products is a disaster. Lightroom CC is now Lightroom is it? Which is what people think Desktop Lightroom is.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. We are here to help. I'd love to clarify this for you.

Adobe Lightroom currently does not have support for plugins or extensions. Plugins are supported with Lightroom Classic.

Lightroom Classic is available on macOS & windows. In contrast, Adobe Lightroom is available on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android & web browsers too, which can make the development & upkeep of plugins difficult for Plugin developers.

Please upvote this thread for plugin support in Adobe Lightroom: https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-ecosystem-cloud-based-ideas/p-plugin-support/idi-p/12355007

We hope you understand,
Thanks!

@Sameer K

So when do you pull in marketing to attempt and defend the horrible naming problem 😄

Tim (sorry, could not resist being cheeky)
