When trying to transfer my raw (cr2) pictures from drive to Lr they become tiff fieles. I've bought the subscription so that isn't the issue.

Can you explain in a bit more detail what exactly you are trying to do? How are you transferring your raw files?
Also, what version number of Lightroom are you using?
