Why has Lightroom changed my photos to DNG? - Adobe Product Community - 14511236

As of two days ago the Lightroom app randomly started importing and exporting all my recent photos to DNG. I did not change this setting and I do not want this either as it crops iPhone photos down from 16:9 which I want on purpose for Instagram stories. How do I change or get rid of this bug?!?
