Will LR 6.61 read Sony A6400 JPEG files? I know it will not read Raw files.

Greetings, a friend recently loaned me his Sony A-6400 for me to try. I shot a few photos in RAW format. When I went to download them into my LR 6.61; I received the nasty message. "unable to read this file format!" My question is IF I HAD SHOT THE IMAGES IN THE JPEG FORMAT, WILL MY LR 6 READ THOSE IMAGES FOR ME TO PROCESS?

 If I still had the camera, I could of course do the test myself!

Yes, JPG files can be imported in all perpetual versions of Lightroom since V1.0

If you want to use the Sony raw files in v6.6 then you can use the free Adobe DNG Converter and convert the files to the DNG raw format, then import the DNGs to your lightroom catalog.
